Film Opening Sequence
Film Pitch- Viking film
Film Pitch
As part of our work on genre, we had to create a film pitch for a historical genre. Marcus, Max and I decided to do a Viking film to match our genre. It was called 'The adventures or Terence'. We had two lessons to plan a film based around the genre we were given and to add cast to our film. We presented our film to the class and got feedback in the ranges of 6/8 out of 10 for each different category. Most of the critical comments were about the title of our film, it didn't relate to the film apart from the main Viking being called Terence and it also didn't relate to the genre very well. Our cast list also wasn't very well thought through. For example, Daniel-Day Lewis is a very well known actor and he was put as the second main character. He would have been to good for this casting so it wasn't very accurate. However the story line made sense and was as interesting as a Viking film could have been. We didn't have very original marketing ideas either.
If we were to do this task again I would have preferred a different genre as I think the historical genre was very hard but if we had the same genre I would change the name of the film and also re-think the cast list. I would also try to come up with better and more original marketing ideas to promote our film better.
